C-9a: General Solutions for two arbitrary rectangles in parallel or perpendicular planes.

These two references provide general solutions or programs that can be used for the cases shown as well as for areas in parallel planes. They have been shown to give the same results as for configurations C-10 through C-13, C-14, and C-15. The more general analytical expressions (Camaraza-Medina et al.) and the Fortran program (Nassar) are more complex to use than the simpler relations given for the other individual factors noted. The Nassar program will also handle rectangles in tilted parallel planes.
